Organic agriculture is a production system in tune with the environment and human needs.
This does not mean we are going back in time but instead it’s a way to develop a model of sustainable production and avoid plundering natural resources (especially soil ), resulting in environment well-being "
Organic is also part of being well-mannered, respecting nature as a territory , environmental and social sustainability .
Some have pointed out that certifying the truffle as organic product makes no sense as it is a natural product of the undergrowth.
To them I say: we have not only certified the truffle, but we also have identified a specific territory of origin.
What is our Mission? We are committed to the recovery of marginal lands and forests in the Marche Apennines , of not so productive, small and steep fields, less-favored areas where it wasn’t common to practice agriculture. These lands have been abandoned in the 80's and gradually became pastures and woods. Having been in these areas for almost 20 years, I always heard residents complaining about the deterioration and desertion , and how in the past it all was more beautiful , lived and more productive.
The first step was to ask the authorities responsible for monitoring our areas to recognize and certify our parcels as " Tartufai e Naturali Controllate" . Thanks to our request, immediately after the inspection and recognition, these lands have become " ad Alto Fusto " , meaning deforestation won’t ever be allowed there.
In addition to that, we are committed to improve these lands over the years, constantly performing manual cleanups , removing and cutting weeds , clearing natural ditches, adding, where it will be needed, where trees and plants that foster truffle growth. Our efforts will be rewarded by an increased production of truffles, in quantity but also in quality.
There’s more. The next project to be undertaken will be the opening of a chain of hotels, renovating houses typical of the country, which are currently closed. Truffle, territory, traditions and experiences to live and tell about, regarding the discovery of the Marche, a hidden region. The simplicity of life as exclusivity of a Territory.
